Global pop-rock band OneRepublic has landed in Barbados and they are ready to rock the stage tonight at Holder's House for the 30th anniversary of Chum Fm's "Breakfast in Barbados." But hours earlier, the band was relaxing at the gorgeous Port Ferdinand luxury property and marina during the annual press junket to answer any and all questions we had for them.
With the lead singer (Ryan Tedder) noticeably absent, the rest of the band (Eddie, Zac, Brent and Drew) informed the Beat team that he came in on a later flight and was resting up for the night ahead. With countless hits under their belt, the band is in high demand. Even though they are almost at the end of a world tour, they will be starting another one within a few months. At this point, we were expecting a sob story of how bored they are of the hectic tour schedules that come along with bands like this. But surprisingly the band actually loves it! And they credit their band members with keeping things interesting.
Their lead singer Ryan Tedder, has written for giants in the industry, including Ellie Goulding, Adele and Kelly Clarkson. With such an extensive background in writing radio hits, the band had joked that Tedder should have been responsible for one of the band's favourite songs "Party in the Usa" by Miley Cyrus (written by Ke$ha.)
With a few hours left before the show, the boys intend to soak up everything the island has to offer, including our oldest rum "Mount Gay Extra Old."
Look out for OneRepublic at Holder's House tonight for Chum Fm's Breakfast in Barbados!
