Have you ever wanted to dress up as a Disney princess … for your job?
If so, you might be in luck. A family in the U.K. needs a part-time nanny for 5-year-old twins, and the parents see this as an opportunity to model values for their lucky girls. So, they’re hiring a nanny willing to stay in character all the time as she watches the kids and organizes Disney-related activities four days a week.
According to the original job posting on the site childcare.co.uk, the parents are looking for someone who will commit to a different Disney princess character each month. They specifically mentioned Anna from “Frozen,” Moana, “Tangled”‘s Rapunzel, and Merida from “Brave.”
“We know this isn’t a normal request for nannies,” the post says. “However we think it would be a great way to teach our girls about things like determination, compassion, fearlessness, and ambition from strong yet relatable female role models like Princess Tiana, Princess Anna, Belle and Cinderella.”
The long-term job, which the mom who posted describes as “slightly unusual,” also involves baking, cooking, picking the children up from school and occasionally putting them to bed. Oh, and singing.
The nanny also has to work around the family’s busy schedules. The ad says the family is looking for a person who can “create a really fun atmosphere in our home.”
“Again, we know this isn’t exactly a normal job offer, but we think it’s a great opportunity for someone to get really creative and add a little magic to our girls’ lives!” the mother wrote. “So, if there are any Disney-mad nannies out there who’d be able to help us out, please get in touch.”
The gig pays $53,000 (£40,000) a year and is located in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire. Successful candidates will get holidays and sick days off as well as 25 vacation days. To be considered, you must have a driver’s license, first-aid training and a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
