“Hustlers” rolled in the Benjamins this weekend, collecting $33.2 million when it debuted in 3,250 North American theaters.
Boosted by rave reviews and stellar word of mouth, “Hustlers” beat expectations and now ranks as the best start for an STX film, along with the biggest live-action opening weekend for stars Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu. Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the R-rated heist thriller is based on Jessica Pressler’s 2015 New York magazine article about a group of strippers who turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clientele after the 2008 recession hits.

Rihanna’s New Album Is Reportedly Dropping Before 2020

Y'all, we might be getting a Rihanna album before the end of the year!
On Saturday (September 7), two French music insiders — journalist Steven Bellery and CULTUREBIZ director Jason Moreau — tweeted that Rih Rih's long-awaited album is dropping in just a few months. "New album of @rihanna in December," both Steven and Jason wrote following France’s Universal Music Group's Open Session. While UMG, has yet to confirm the album's release date, it's possible December release makes sense, given the fact that Rihanna's been working on the album for over a year.

Elizabeth Rowin jokingly started a petition to rename a section of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Street to "President Barack H. Obama" since the location is the same block as the Trump Tower's which means the landmark's address could be changed to "725 Barack H. Obama Avenue, New York, NY 10022."

Rapper, producer and songwriter Missy Elliott will receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Aug. 26 at the 2019 VMAs, Variety has learned exclusively. She will perform live at the awards show for the first time in 16 years.

A whole heap of actors are coming to Coming to America. The sequel to the 1988 comedy — known as Coming 2 America, naturally — has added Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk), and rapper Rick Ross to the cast. Additionally, original cast members James Earl Jones and Paul Bates are returning, joining Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, who will reprise their (primary) roles from the original film.
