In an upcoming interview with Larry King, 23-year-old actress/singer Keke Palmer says that she plans on pressing charges against R&B singer Trey Songz for using her image in his music video for “Pick Up The Phone” without her consent.
“Yes, I am. I mean the video is down now but I mean more so—it’s out and it’s over— but I feel more so, my point isn’t to say— it’s not just specifically about this person, this guy and what he did,” she explains in the interview, which will reportedly air on Feb. 1. “It’s the overall idea that you can’t just do stuff to people and it’s all right, no matter who you are.”

Chrisette Michele put a lot on the line to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration. The Grammy-winning singer told Billboard that family members have “disowned” her over the performance, and she didn’t even get to meet Trump.
“Originally I was supposed to perform directly after his first speech, and I had done that with Barack Obama before, so I was used to that kind of experience,” she explained. “And the woman who organized the event came and told me, ‘Now you’re going to go first and he’s going to go after you.’ “

Chrisette Michele’s decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration has received quite a bit of criticism. According to sources close to the artist, the 34-year-old singer-songwriter signed on about a week ago but kept it secret out of fear of the backlash, and the criticism most definitely came to her door stop. The Roots drummer, Questlove even offered to give Michele money from his own pocket to back out.
A las, Michele is standing firm, and on Thursday morning (Jan. 19) posted an open letter to social media boldly stating she is content with the fierce objection she’s receiving if it means her presence can help others be heard.
